A few months ago, I was gifted Juvia’s Place ‘The Nubian 2’ eyeshadow palette for my birthday and since then, I haven’t been able to get enough! I thought it was about time to make another purchase so I snatched up The Masquerade Mini during the Black Friday frenzy. Now that it’s here, I can say I am officially obsessed. I’m proclaiming it PALETTE OF THE YEAR. I’d say that’s love at first swatch, wouldn’t you? Keep reading to find out why I’m so infatuated!
To say I’m obsessed is an understatement. I feel that I’ve written that exact phrase more than once on this blog, but it’s meaning has never held the weight this instance has. The Masquerade palette achieves what no other colorful shadow (matte or shimmer) has done for me: it gives a whole new meaning to color intensity on melanin enriched skin. From Kat Von D to Urban Decay to Lime Crime, I’ve tried a bunch of bright, blinding color palettes, but this is the first to deliver on the color that I crave! If you don’t believe me, just check the swatches. Even the mattes stand out.
I was able to snag the mini version of the larger palette for about $20 during the Black Friday sale + the discount using the code DUPETHAT (available year round). The mini is perfect for my needs as I have enough eyeshadow to last 25 years and I have no need for mega pans. At least that’s what I thought when I ordered this. But if my obsession holds up, I might be ordering a back up sooner than I thought.
