For a person like me, with 937429201 eyeshadow palettes, it takes A LOT for a new product to catch the eye. ‘Through My Eyes’ DID THAT with a shade range that can take you from neutral to night or daytime to darkness. I love the color combinations and bookmarked it to purchase on release. After a month of wear I can confidently dish the good and the bad on this beauty.
This palette includes sixteen shades – a mix of mattes and shimmers – and enough of a color range to provide lewk inspo for a long long time. This palette stands in a unique category for me. One where very few palette lie! This bad boy has base AND transition AND lid shades – AND a bunch of them at that! How many palettes say that (and actually deliver)? ‘Canela’ and ‘Divina’ are especially gorgeous base and crease shades for me. I absolutely go mad over a good deep reddish purple.
This palette not only delivers the color range I love, but also delivers on the formula and the pigmentation of a majority of the shadows. As you can tell from my swatch photo, there was some difficulty swatching the lighter matte shades. I normally see the opposite effect – there is always an issue with the deeper, brighter colors staining or not showing up at all. So the issue with the lighter colors doesn’t bother me as much as it might someone who uses those shades more often. I must say I’m especially impressed by the pigmentation of ‘Lomo’ and ‘Euphoric’. I can see myself using these babies in the summer if I’m going for a signature monochromatic eye and want to look like a hibiscus flower .. because who wouldn’t want to look like a hibiscus flower?
When this palette was first announced, some eagle eyed ColourPop fans spotted the similarities between a few existing ColourPop palettes and this one. If you have the ColourPop x Becky G ‘Salvage’ palette in particular, you could probably skip this one. Don’t have it? Then break out $23 and head over to the ColourPop website to grab this baby. You won’t regret it! Let me know how you like this palette in the comments below.
