Even though Valentine’s Day has passed, my love for pink and red eyeshadow looks hasn’t been dampened! I livvveee for a clean shimmer pink eye look and I don’t think that will ever change. Huda Beauty’s Obsessions “Ruby” eyeshadow palette feels like it was created specifically for me because of it’s perfectly curated collection of nine pink, red, burgundy, and purple mattes and shimmers.
I’ve already added the “Emerald” palette to my collection and I thoroughly encourage you to read my review if you are a fan of green eyeshadow. “Ruby” performs much like her sister. The shadow formula is extremely buttery and the pan sizes are surprisingly large compared to the small size of the palette (if product details on Sephora.com are to be believed, each pan holds the same amount of product as traditional round shadows from MAC Cosmetics, ColourPop, Anastasia Beverly Hills, etc.). There are a great collection of colors here – my favorite being a bright matte red that truly pops on my skin over an eyeshadow primer like Too Faced Glitter Glue Eyeshadow Primer or a lighter color concealer.
Like I mentioned in my previously published “Emerald” post, I will be purchasing more of these Huda Beauty Obsessions palettes throughout the year and I can’t wait to bring you my reviews. As a true lover of monochromatic eye looks, these are a dream. I can create an eye look from a single palette instead of having to dip across palettes or single shadows for a mix of mattes and shimmers of the same color family.
