For brown skin beauties, contouring products can be extremely hard to come by. While brands in recent years have done well to expand their foundation shades, there is still a gap in creating shades deep enough to contour the deepest foundation shade. I’ve selected eight contouring products to help you on your search for ultimate definition because who doesn’t want snatched cheekbones!
Bobbi Brown Stick Foundation, $46.00 If you are looking for an easy-to-use cream contour, the Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick is going to be your best friend. This stick is perfect for on-the-go makeup masterpieces because it can easily be thrown in a travel bag and whipped out when needed. Use a beauty sponge or brush to blend out after application and you are ready to step out!
Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Cream Kit, $40.00 I’ve already used up two of these contour kits, so you know my love is real. For brown beauties with hyperpigmentation, the orange corrector in this palette is amazing. You can correct, conceal, and contour all with one palette – saving time and space on your vanity. These kits (especially the Deep shade) often pop up at Marshall’s and TJMaxx so keep an eye out for discounts up to 50% or the retail price.
Black Radiance Beauty Pressed Powder, $5.49 My personal favorite contouring powder, you can find this at almost any major drugstore in the United States. The shade range is massive and the price can’t be beat. Whether you are just starting out and looking to test out a variety of products or you are a seasoned pro, you’ll want to get your hands on this powder.
Maréna Beauté Poudre Caresse, $27.00 This French brand catering exclusively to beauty lovers of color has knocked it out of the park with a line of pressed powders in different shades. Look for your perfect setting powder shade also while you are browsing.
Viseart Highlight and Contour Palette, $80.00 I know you are looking at the price tag and gagging, but honestly the size and quality of this palette makes it more than worth the investment. If you are looking for a single palette for highlighting (matte and shimmer shades included) and contour shades for all skintones, this is it. Makeup artists – this is for you. The investment piece your kit has been missing!
Tarte Shape Tape Pressed Powder, $32.00 Coming off the heels of their incredibly successful Shape Tape concealer, Tarte has launched a line of foundations and concealers to accompany the best seller. The are four deep powder shades in the collection with different undertones, all with the blemish-covering Shape Tape promise.
Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Powder, $7.99 I’ve recently started using Maybelline’s Fit Me Matte + Poreless range of products and while the powder shade range leaves a few things to be desired, this is another affordable, drugstore option to add to the list. The shades would be best to contour lighter brown skin. Hopefully, Maybelline will continue to extend their range here like they have with the Fit Me foundations.
MAC Cosmetics Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation, $30.00 There is no way this list would be complete without the OG powder for everything – MAC Studio Fix. This powder is multidimensional – use it for shaping, sculpting, foundation, concealing, eyeshadow, basically anything. You will find a wide variety of shades with different undertones catering to many complexions.
