Christmas came early for me this year! Coastal Scents sent me a box of goodies to play with this holiday season and I’ve dived right in! My favorites of the bunch include all six of the Revealed eyeshadow palettes and I’m going to be showing them off to you today!
I’ve had these palettes for a few weeks and I’ve been able to put them through the paces. I invited a few friends over to help me play around with all six pans because that is A LOT of eyeshadow and I needed some help. The quality is fantastic! Previously, I’ve only used their single eyeshadow pans so I wasn’t so sure about their full palettes, but some of the satin shades were especially stellar. I was also really impressed by the glitter shimmers. They were fairly bright, with very little fallout and they didn’t get everywhere as I was trying to apply them my lid. However, they weren’t as bright as some of the other glitter shadows I have. But a quick way around this is to add a bit of loose pigment on top of your eyeshadow to really make it pop. This way, you’ve got a great palette, and you only need to supplement it a little with little bit of pop! I did that on my look with the Revealed Smokey palette that you can read all about here.
Without further ado, let’s jump into details about the individual palettes with swatches!
The Revealed 1 palette is a great warm neutral palette for everyday wear. It’s got a good mix of mattes and shimmers, mostly browns and golds but there are a few rose golds and grays in there to switch things up. My favorite of the bunch is the deep brown satin in the bottom left. It’s very hard to find a deep enough brown on my skin tone that could be used as a crease color and this one can.
The Revealed 2 palette really brings out the cranberry color scheme perfect for this time of year. Or for me, any time of year – this is my favorite color combination. It works on a variety of skintones and gives you a bit more drama than just the warm neutrals, but still allows you to stay in a comfortable neutral range. The bottom row adds a lot of drama with several deeper shades that would work beautifully for a sultry smokey eye.
The Revealed 3 took on a cool neutral theme with a purple slant. This palette had much lighter shades in it than what I prefer for my skintone. The deep purple in the bottom left was the only color that I could use in my crease to build up controlled dimension (matte black gets out of control really fast). This palette is definitely for someone with a fairer skintone who can take full advantage of some of the subtle lighter shimmers.
Yes, you are seeing that correctly. Most of the shadows on the top row swatched the same for me so about half of the Revealed Matte palette wasn’t really useful for me. But the bottom half was beautiful. There was a good range of shades that could be very useful day to day – cool and warm neutrals. And the most surprising shade of the entire bunch – a deep matte umber that I will cherish always! I really appreciate this instead of a black since we’ve seen that in all the other palettes so far. The rich brown will take you far when black is too dramatic.
My favorite palette of the whole bunch – Revealed Smokey. The colors here pop much brighter for my skintone and there are several different color schemes in this palette I can play around with. You can pull a blue, purple, or gray look from this – or a combination of all three. I wrote up a more detailed review of the Revealed Smokey palette in my blog post here.
The Revealed Rouge was the biggest hit of my makeup party and it seems the biggest hit on the Coastal Scents website as well. It sold out in the early days of their Black Friday sale and all my friends were wailing in dismay. There were so many oohs and ahhs after swatching this baby I understand why. It’s a gorgeous mix of golds, rose golds, and straight out reddish shades. The swatches really speak for themselves!
