First Impression: Essence Metal Glam Eyeshadow

I backed in to the Essence Cosmetics display today at my local Ulta and my eyes were immediately drawn to the most shimmery, glittery eyeshadows tucked away at the bottom! There were eight on display, but only four in stock (bummer). You better believe I snatched all four! Check out my thoughts below!

My heart leaped for joy when I saw these on the shelves! I immediately thought of the Urban Decay Moondust shadows and the MAC Dazzleshadows from Le Disko. They have the same shimmer with the texture of a gel-infused powder. I am so in love with these type of shimmer shadow, but the MAC and Urban Decay shadows can run you $20 each. My heart is telling me yes, but my wallet … my wallet just laughs!

So I thought I would try out these Essence shadows ($3 each) to help ease the pain of not being able to buy all MAC and Urban Decay goodies. I must say I was pleasantly surprised with these for being priced so low! The gel texture was there, but the shadows were a little drier than the ones from Urban Decay. However, with a little eyeshadow primer to keep them in place, these could be a wonderful addition to any makeup collection.
