ColourPop Cosmetics recently released a warm brown tone color collection named “Wild Child” and ya girl was dying over the lip colors so I went ahead purchased the eye palette, deepest blush and all three of the lippie stix which are melanted to the gawds, honey! To check out my review of these five products keep reading.
We’ll start with the eyeshadow palette since that’s the product that got most of the promotion. ColourPop has defined the 9-pan tone-on-tone space with several other brands trying to play catch up at different price points (looking at you Makeup Revolution and Huda Beauty). But these 9-pan, $14 palettes are really hard to beat when they drop nearly once a month in so many different colors and shades. I’ve mostly stayed away from them and I’m sure my bank account thanks me, but this one was just too chocolately to pass up.
This palette features four matte shades, four shimmers and one pressed glitter. I’m not gonna lie, the pressed glitter was gorgeous, but it still got glitter everywhere so that was a pass for me. The mattes were very nice and blendable on the eyes, but didn’t swatch very clean on my arm. Just goes to show you can’t knock it till you try it! The shimmers were flawless on the eyes and in swatches.
I was a little worried about the next product – pressed blush. I purchased the deepest shade (didn’t look THAT deep) in the product pics so was not expecting much BUT WHEN I PUT IT ON WHEEEW CHILE! That thang lit my cheeks up! I probably put on too much initially – I filled my brush up because I wasn’t expecting so much pigment, but she came through!
ColourPop Blush “Trippin'” ColourPop Blush “Trippin'”
Trippin’ gives a nice warm glow to the cheeks even on brown skin, I was shocked! I believe this is the first pressed blush I’ve gotten from ColourPop that has this type of pigmentation. It reminds me of the deeper Super Shock blushes that give off this type of color to the cheeks.
Next up are the lippes – in my opinion, the belles of the ball. The reason I purchased this collection. I’m a sucker for a brown nude lip and these lippie stix did not disspoint. Three shades come in this collection and can be worn with different skin tones. My personal preference is Sassy which I am wearing in the photo above. I love the ColourPop formula for the OG lippie stix – these are soft, comfortable and very wearable.
Overall, a very solid collection from ColourPop if you love chocolate color makeup. At this price point, a neutral collection like this is a no-brainer. Very complementary to brown skin and can be worn everyday or glammed up. Get it while you can on ColourPop’s website.
