Beauty influencer (and overall goddess) Nyma Tang collaborated with Dose of Colors (DOC) on two beautiful lip collections that will have you SET, girl! I was particularly drawn toward the ‘Nude’ collection which featured mostly dark brown shades. I loved the fact that these deep tones were called ‘Nude’, because, let’s face it, that never happens! Huge kudos to Nyma and the DOC team for holding it down for the brown girls who are getting major feels from the naming right now.
I immediately went for the liquid lipstick because I love the DOC formula. I was not disappointed. The shade “Like To See It” was creamy, pigmented, and dried down evenly across my lips. It didn’t get patchy even with two coats. I did generously line my lips (lined, not filled) with the lip liner “Chocolate Chip”, but gave the lipstick its moment to shine.
The first time I wore this, I tested just the liner and the liquid lipstick at brunch and put it through the paces with food and drink. It did wear after apps, entree, and mimosas – but what doesn’t?! But through the FOUR HOUR BRUNCH (I was dying y’all), I only had to reapply the combo once and my lips stayed flawless.
When I did up my face for product pictures, I added the lip gloss on top of the liner / liquid lipstick combo and that was a winner! The three of those together make a magical concoction that did something to my spirit. Definitely works with any makeup look since it is a nude, but if you are feeling a fall, bronze goodness look, you could get away with wearing this and only this for an entire season.
I haven’t tried the Penny lipstick yet. I’ve got to do some mixing with it because it is very similar to my complexion (as you can see on my arm in the swatches above). I really have to be in the mood for a barely there lip, but that is just my personal preference. If you like a barely there look and are a similar skintone to me, you will kill this shade.
Bonus: Unedited product shot of my dog showing off his stuff while I’m trying to take pictures of this collection. He really wanted to be in the pictures.
