This was me last September when I stepped my foot into the door of my first The Makeup Show Dallas. When I found out that I was moving to Texas in late 2015, my first questions were, “Where am I going to live?” and “What are the closest beauty conferences?”

NYX Luv Out Loud Liquid Lipsticks

Is anyone out there a fan of the NYX Liquid Suede liquid lipstick formula? I’m on the fence – sometimes I’m a fan of the creamy, non-drying liquid lipstick formula. Other times I want something long-wearing that is going to last through a tsunami. I go back and forth.

NYX Cosmetics does the creamy formula reallllyyyy well. I rank them up there with the ColourPop Ultra Satin Lip formula. Definitely my go-tos when I’m in the mood for the non-drying lip. NYX graciously sent me six of their newest liquid lippies in this formula and I had to immediately throw them on my lips. Their new collection is called ‘Luv Out Loud’. Each of the six lipsticks have empowering names like Brave or Passionate. Their website says the collection names are all “attributes we at NYX Professional Makeup find truly beautiful”.Continue Reading

Rihanna’s New Makeup Line is Launching This Month

Singer, philanthropist, beauty & fashion icon Rihanna is launching her own makeup line and I don’t even know what to do with myself. Over the past decade, Rihanna has set herself apart with her bold fashion and beauty choices. She could wear a trashbag to the Met Gala next year and people would still go nuts! Speaking of Met Gala, if you missed her ‘pretty in pink’ makeup look from the 2017 event, you must have been living under a rock. It’s probably the most recreated makeup look of the year thus far.

So it’s only natural that this launch be an event in itself! The line, aptly named Fenty Beauty (Fenty is the superstar’s last name) will be debuting at Sephora and Harvey Nichols at midnight on September 8, 2017. The line will be available globally upon launch. Not much is known about the product offerings, but what little we do know is thanks to a flutter of sneak peeks released in the past few days by all parties associated with the launch.Continue Reading

Looxi Beauty Fall 2017 Shimmer Eyeshadows

On August 25th, Looxi Beauty is releasing 14 new eyeshadows in celebration of the fall season! I’ve been playing with them all and I’m going to focus almost exclusively on the shimmers because those are the ones I think are really going to make you all drool!

Looxi has been my favorite indie brand pretty much since they released their first collection and I lost myself in their gorgeous gunmetal shimmer ‘Pistol Whipped’.  This time around, we are looking at a collection that’s warm and fuzzy and can hold you close during your latest Netflix binge in front of the fire with a pumpkin spice latte in hand. Gold is the New Black: “Golden Goddess” Highlighter

Today, Earth got a chance to experience a once-in-a-lifetime solar eclipse! A solar eclipse is when the moon passes between the Earth and the Sun  basically blocking all the light and making it seem like nighttime during the day – for a hot second. I’m glad it was super short, because my highlight needed to be SEEN and the Moon was not doing it for me honey! If you, like me, have to have a blinding highlight, the sun is absolutely essential so buh-bye Moon!

Speaking of highlights, I have the golden highlight of all highlights to show you guys. It’s going to take more than a Moon to block this baby out. I was recently selected as one of B’ellegant Cosmetics’ representatives (yay!) and I’m excited I get to share some awesome new products with you guys from another indie brand I’ve been eyeing online for a while now. Kim Kardashian West launching KKW Beauty with Creme Contour and Highlight Kits

The modern day queen of contouring is finally entering the beauty industry with her own line of cream contour products. Kim Kardashian West will be releasing the first product of her new line, KKW Beauty, at the end of this month. The contour kits, officially titled Creme Contour and Highlight Kits, will included two dual ended cream sticks and a dual ended brush and sponge applicator. The first cream stick includes a matte highlight shade on one end and a shimmer highlight shade at the other end. The contour stick is similar but includes two contour shades on either side.

Looxi Beauty Summer 2017 Shimmer Shadow Collection

Looxi Beauty recently launched the second part of their summer 2017 collection and it’s full shimmer goodness. I had the chance to play in some of the shadows pre-launch and this collection is everything I was hoping for from Looxi this summer. Does POPWHITE Brighten Those Pearly Not-So-Whites?

Back in March, POPWHITE kindly reached out and asked me to test out their whitening toothpaste and mouthwash. I was totally down to try it out since the products claim to brighten using color science, not peroxide. I’ve had mixed experiences with peroxide in past – usually all ending in my gums being on fire. Beauty is not worth that much pain!

I don’t consider myself to have sensitive gums or teeth. I brush twice a day (most days). I floss and use mouthwash at least once a day. I go to the dentist faithfully twice a year. I don’t have any fillings and I have never had any major dental work.

I thought I might be a pretty good use case!

My only hesitation was my past experience with harsh teeth whitening chemicals. But POPWHITE promised to be different.Continue Reading
