Beauty powerhouse Anastasia Beverly Hills just released her fourth and fifth Glow Kits last week to a bunch of frenzied beauty fanatics who bought them up like hotcakes! I purchased the ‘Sweets’ Glow Kit and I’m definitely loving it, but I can’t help but compare several of the shades to a few already in my collection. Is it worth the buy? Or can you get away with ‘the look for less’? Read on to find out!
First Impression: Tarte Cosmetics x MakeupShayla Tarteist Contour Palette
I typically don’t purchase from Tarte Cosmetics because they rarely create base shades that match my skintone. Some of their formulas are to die for, but if I can’t find foundation to match my skin, what’s the point? I was so excited when they announced their collaboration with makeup artist and beauty guru @makeupshayla: a contour palette for medium/dark skintones. I was super intrigued so I purchased it and now that I’ve had a chance to swatch, I wanted to share my initial thoughts with you guys. Keep reading for more!Continue Reading
Review: Kat Von D Beauty Eyeshadow Palette ‘Serpentina’
I just got my hands on this beauty two days ago and I had to share with you all right away because Kat Von D’s Serpentina palette has been teased for nearly a year now and it is finally here! Available on katvondbeauty.com and online and in-stores Sephora. I almost didn’t purchase it, but I am so happy I did! See below for a ton of pictures and swatches!

First Impression: Looxi Beauty Metallic Highlighters #SquadGoals Collection
My love for Looxi Beauty knows NO bounds as I have been slowly building my Looxi collection since they opened their virtual doors a little over a year ago. I’m guessing I was one of their earlier bandwagoners and I guess you could say I’m pretty much driving the wagon like a mad woman at this point with my 40+ shadow collection! With the release of their NEW metallic powder highlighters, I can drive the wagon AND you can see my cheeks from space. Best. Day. Ever. Check out my quick video below for blinding swatches!Continue Reading
Get The Look: Pink Nude Matte Lips for WOC
What is the biggest beauty struggle for WOC? Finding products that match our varied skintones! One of the largest issues for me personally is finding ‘nude’ lipsticks that match my definition of ‘nude’. Nude for me is quite a bit deeper, and more pink, than the typical cool, sand shade you see over and over again from all the major brands. But after trying countless lippies, I’ve compiled a list of lipsticks from my own collection that I grab when I want to go completely in the nude!
Review: Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick ‘Madison’
Ever since I saw Norvina slaying in Anastasia Beverly Hills’ spring liquid lipstick ‘Madison’, I knew it had to be mine! I happened upon it in person as I was scouring Sephora for new goodies this weekend and I purchased it. Does it live up to the glorious promo shots we saw online? Or does the $20 product leave much to be desired? Keep reading to find out!
First Impression: Bobbi Brown Beach Shimmer Powder ‘Bikini Bronze’
As I was strolling through Sephora today, my eyes landed on this gorgeous bronzer from Bobbbi Brown. It seems it’s part of Brown’s limited edition, Sephora exclusive ‘Beach’ collection. If you are looking for some serious summer shimmer, you’ve got to check this collection out for yourself! Personally, I plan on taking my highlight game ‘all the way up’ for #Summer16. You with me?
First Impression: Melt Cosmetics Lipstick ‘Lewd’ & ‘Do Gaf’
This was my first time purchasing lipsticks from Melt Cosmetics even though I have been following the brand for a while and love the Dark Matter eyeshadow stack. Something about the ultra-matte lipstick formula has kind of scared me off. I was always worried the formula would be too dry and accentuate my chapped lips at every chance. However, I bit the bullet when Melt announced their new metallic shades, Lewd & DO?GAF. They are must haves and now I can tell you why below!
First Impression: Looxi Beauty Metallic Shimmer Eyeshadow Haul
It’s no secret that I’m a mega supporter of several indie makeup brands and Looxi Beauty is one of my main squeezes! As far as eyeshadow goes, my collection is almost exclusively indie with a bulk of those from Looxi. So it could be said that I’m sort of a Looxi expert at this point with my near 50 shadow collection. Want to see my latest haul of shimmer and metallic formulas? Keep reading!
