The second I heard Raye Boyce (@itsmyrayeraye) was launching a collection with BH Cosmetics, my ears perked up. BH’s last major collaboration with vlogger Carli Bybel was a HUGE success and I was immediately curious as to how they would top the quality and affordability of both Carli’s projects. I didn’t have to wonder long as Raye’s collection dropped right before the Thanksgiving holiday. I was set on supporting Raye so I ordered immediately and sat at my doorstep like a sad puppy until it came. Boy, was I in for a treat!
I’ll focus this post on my impressions of the palette as I have not yet washed (or tried) the brush set. I like to wash all new brushes before I use them because ain’t nobody know where those brush bristles have been! All I will say is they FELT amazing as I lightly brushed each one across my arm to check the softness and density. I have high hopes!
Singer, philanthropist, beauty & fashion icon Rihanna is launching her own makeup line and I don’t even know what to do with myself. Over the past decade, Rihanna has set herself apart with her bold fashion and beauty choices. She could wear a trashbag to the Met Gala next year and people would still go nuts! Speaking of Met Gala, if you missed her ‘pretty in pink’ makeup look from the 2017 event, you must have been living under a rock. It’s probably the most recreated makeup look of the year thus far.
So it’s only natural that this launch be an event in itself! The line, aptly named Fenty Beauty (Fenty is the superstar’s last name) will be debuting at Sephora and Harvey Nichols at midnight on September 8, 2017. The line will be available globally upon launch. Today, Earth got a chance to experience a once-in-a-lifetime solar eclipse! A solar eclipse is when the moon passes between the Earth and the Sun basically blocking all the light and making it seem like nighttime during the day – for a hot second. I’m glad it was super short, because my highlight needed to be SEEN and the Moon was not doing it for me honey! If you, like me, have to have a blinding highlight, the sun is absolutely essential so buh-bye Moon!
Speaking of highlights, I have the golden highlight of all highlights to show you guys. It’s going to take more than a Moon to block this baby out. The modern day queen of contouring is finally entering the beauty industry with her own line of cream contour products. Kim Kardashian West will be releasing the first product of her new line, KKW Beauty, at the end of this month. The contour kits, officially titled Creme Contour and Highlight Kits, will included two dual ended cream sticks and a dual ended brush and sponge applicator. The first cream stick includes a matte highlight shade on one end and a shimmer highlight shade at the other end. The contour stick is similar but includes two contour shades on either side.
I’m a huge fan of highlighters and the more golden goddess-y / bling all in your face / see me from Mars, the better! Usually reserved for indie or luxury beauty brands, it’s rare to see a quality highlighter from a drugstore brand, save for NYX Cosmetics or Makeup Revolution (which you still can’t usually find at your corner drugstore). So when Maybelline dropped their first Master Chrome Metallic Highlighter, you know I had to have it.
I ordered their first shade ‘Molten Gold’ via Amazon and it got to me in two days. With an already low retail price of $8 and my free prime shipping, I’d say that was a pretty darn good deal. I wasn’t really sure what to expect with the formula since this product is brand new to the Maybelline line. When I first swatched it, I wasn’t blown away by the powdery feel. It reminded me of how the Ofra ‘You Dew You’ and ‘You Glow Girl’ highlighters are, but the product didn’t glide on as smoothly when I took my finger to my arm for a swatch. Aside from that fact, it blended beautifully and definitely lived up to the ‘Master Chrome’ name!Continue Reading

The Glow Kit’s shade selection is reminiscent of the aurora borealis so if you want a Northern Lights glow, you better get with the program and check this beauty out! When MAC announced the return of one of its most popular formulas, people went wild.
