Beauty influencer (and overall goddess) Nyma Tang collaborated with Dose of Colors (DOC) on two beautiful lip collections that will have you SET, girl! I was particularly drawn toward the ‘Nude’ collection which featured mostly dark brown shades. I loved the fact that these deep tones were called ‘Nude’, because, let’s face it, that never happens! Huge kudos to Nyma and the DOC team for holding it down for the brown girls who are getting major feels from the naming right now.
ColourPop Cosmetics recently released a warm brown tone color collection named “Wild Child” and ya girl was dying over the lip colors so I went ahead purchased the eye palette, deepest blush and all three of the lippie stix which are melanted to the gawds, honey! While my eye obsession will never be dampened, today it’s all about the lips! Karity is launching a 9-shade extension to their liquid lipstick line on February 14th aptly named “The Mattes” after their luxurious velvet matte formula that will have you guessing if you have on any lipstick at all!

Is anyone out there a fan of the NYX Liquid Suede liquid lipstick formula? I’m on the fence – sometimes I’m a fan of the creamy, non-drying liquid lipstick formula. Other times I want something long-wearing that is going to last through a tsunami. I go back and forth.
NYX Cosmetics does the creamy formula reallllyyyy well. I rank them up there with the ColourPop Ultra Satin Lip formula. Definitely my go-tos when I’m in the mood for the non-drying lip. NYX graciously sent me six of their newest liquid lippies in this formula and I had to immediately throw them on my lips. Their new collection is called ‘Luv Out Loud’. Each of the six lipsticks have empowering names like Brave or Passionate. When I find nude lipsticks that work on WOC, I get really excited. When I find EXCELLENT nude lipsticks for WOC, I scream, shout, and let it ALL out! So I’m going to share one of my newest finds thanks to indie makeup brand Baby Bat Beauty and their luscious lipstick ‘Bonfire Babe’. Baby Bat Beauty was kind enough to send me a few of their lipsticks to test out and I was like ‘SEND NUDES’.

Sola Look recently collaborated with Paramount Pictures to bring the movie to life over 30 years after its release in the form of an eyeshadow palette. I was positively giddy when I saw the first sneak peek at the lip colors in the new ColourPop Cosmetics fall collection! All super rich blood reds in every single formula they have! I completely disregarded the fact that each of the five shades I purchased are the same color and I have NO REGRETS! What is the biggest beauty struggle for WOC? Finding products that match our varied skintones! One of the largest issues for me personally is finding ‘nude’ lipsticks that match my definition of ‘nude’. Nude for me is quite a bit deeper, and more pink, than the typical cool, sand shade you see over and over again from all the major brands.
